BA - Apparel Manufacturing Technology
We are looking for a Business Analyst who can connect factory-floor realities with technology solutions. You will work with merchandising, planning, sourcing, supply chain, production, quality, and finance teams to understand how our apparel operations run, identify where systems and data can improve efficiency, and translate those needs into clear requirements for development and vendor teams. You will help drive digital transformation across the order-to-shipment lifecycle, with a particular focus on advanced planning and supply chain visibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Requirements and process analysis
- Elicit, document, and validate business requirements through workshops, interviews, and factory-floor observation.
- Map current-state and future-state processes across the apparel value chain: costing, order booking, demand and capacity planning, BOM and material planning, sourcing and procurement, cutting, sewing, washing, finishing, packing, and shipping.
- Write user stories, acceptance criteria, functional specifications, and process flows.
- Systems and solution delivery
- Work with developers, ERP consultants, and vendors on the configuration, enhancement, and integration of ERP, PLM, MES, warehouse, and production tracking systems.
- Support the implementation and optimization of Advanced Planning and Scheduling (APS) tools, covering capacity planning, production scheduling, and what-if scenario analysis.
- Support the deployment of Supply Chain Management (SCM) tools for supplier collaboration, purchase order tracking, inbound logistics visibility, inventory management, and shipment tracking.
- Support UAT planning and execution, defect triage, go-live, and post-implementation support.
- Contribute to system integration design, such as ERP to PLM, ERP to APS, ERP to SCM platforms, ERP to shop-floor data capture, and customer/supplier portals.
- Planning and supply chain analytics
- Analyze order books, capacity, and material availability to support better line loading, material requirement planning (MRP), and delivery commitments.
- Define and monitor supply chain KPIs such as OTIF, supplier lead-time adherence, inventory turnover, material shortage rates, and planning accuracy.
- Identify bottlenecks and risks across the supply chain, from raw material sourcing to final shipment, and recommend data-driven solutions.
- Data and reporting
- Build dashboards and reports (Power BI, Tableau, or similar) covering line efficiency, WIP, capacity utilization, cost per minute, defect rates, material consumption, and planning versus actual performance.
- Help ensure data quality, master data governance, and consistent KPI definitions across planning, production, and supply chain systems.
- Stakeholder and change management
- Act as the link between business users and the technology team, communicating clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Prepare training material and support user adoption of new systems and processes.
- Manage stakeholder expectations, scope, and priorities, and report project progress.
- Continuous improvement
- Identify automation opportunities such as RPA, workflow tools, and IoT or barcode/RFID tracking.
- Keep up with industry technology trends, including Industry 4.0, AI-driven planning, digital twins, and sustainability and traceability reporting.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (a BSc from a recognized university or equivalent, such as a SLIIT, IIT, or NSBM degree).

- Solid documentation skills: BRDs, FRDs, user stories, BPMN or UML process modeling.
- Excellent written and spoken English; working knowledge of Sinhala and/or Tamil is an advantage for factory-level engagement.
Desirable
- Experience with PLM (Centric, Lectra Kubix, Gerber YuniquePLM), MES, or CAD/pattern systems.
- Experience with supplier portals, EDI, or supply chain visibility platforms.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum and tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or Confluence.
