Candidate Profile

• Have at least 7 years of experience as a software technical writer creating accessible, user-focused, context-sensitive end-user content
• Hold a BS/BA degree with a technical background
• Have a portfolio of writing samples demonstrating versatility, creativity, and innovation, ideally including user interface (UI) writing examples
• Are proficient with MadCap Flare (3+ years of experience) and HTML editors
• Have experience collaborating with UX designers to create UI text
• Have experience working within Agile software development practices
• Possess excellent written English, with a strong sense of style and the ability to write simple, friendly content
• Have experience working in a large, complex, distributed organization and enjoy collaborating with cross-functional teams
• Can adapt to existing workflows while bringing your expertise to help improve them
• Learn new products and features quickly and efficiently
• Can work with minimal managerial oversight while keeping stakeholders informed
• Have a positive, imaginative approach to problem-solving; can accept feedback gracefully; and have the judgment to know when to accept it and when to push back

Bonus Points if You Have

• Experience writing for the educational community (instructors, students, and administrators)
• Experience using a source control system such as GitHub
• Familiarity with JIRA
