Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement robust data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, DBT, Synapse, and Databricks.
• Ensure data quality and security by applying data governance, lineage, and compliance practices in line with regulations (including GDPR).
• Evaluate and optimize the performance, reliability, and scalability of data solutions.
• Contribute to data modeling within modern data warehouse architectures (medallion, lakehouse), adopting a data-as-a-product mindset.
• Establish clear data contracts with the business, including agreements on delivery, error handling, and access rights.
• Act as technical lead within projects, mentoring colleagues and collaborating closely with data analysts and business stakeholders.
• Manage CI/CD processes for data pipelines via Azure DevOps.

Candidate Profile

• At least 10 years of experience as a Data Engineer, including a minimum of 2 years working with Microsoft Azure.
• In-depth knowledge of Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Azure SQL, Databricks, DBT, and Power BI.
• Proficient in SQL and Python.
• Strong understanding of data governance, lineage, security, and compliance within regulated industries.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex topics to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Team player with strong coaching abilities and a critical, solution-oriented mindset.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies is an asset.
• Knowledge of data contracts and data product thinking is a major plus.
• Fluent in English.
